“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” - Soren Kierkegaard
Hello, my name is Bevin Page, and I am a therapist with New Point of View Counseling, located in the Ahwatukee Foothills. I am licensed to provide counseling by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Illinois and went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling at the University of Phoenix.
Navigating life’s journey can be difficult at times and there are times that can feel lonely or even isolating. Sometimes we tend to try to push through difficult times without much support or understanding, out of fear of judgment or criticism. Needing and asking for help is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of strength. We all need support, encouragement, understanding, and guidance at some time in our lives.
There are times in life when we find ourselves reacting, behaving, and feeling in ways that we do not understand. This can be the case for many reasons, such as previous experiences, traumas, and unhealthy relationships. Through those experiences, we tend to learn various ways of surviving the situation. Unfortunately, sometimes we take those survival techniques with us throughout our lives, even when they no longer serve us. As your therapist, I would help you to identify those behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that no longer serve you and help you to learn new ways of coping with life’s stressors.
“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you - all of the expectations, all of the beliefs - and becoming who you are.” - Rachel Naomi Remen
My role is to walk through difficult times with you and to partner with you in your healing. My integrative approach to counseling utilizes techniques from person-centered, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR, Gottman, and mindfulness. I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, BPD, codependency, attachment, relationship conflicts, feelings of inadequacy, and self-esteem concerns.
By creating a safe, non-judgemental, open therapeutic relationship, my goal is to utilize your own strengths and values as a guide to establish the best ways to help you. My desire is that you are empowered, learn skills that will help you manage emotions, heal from trauma, challenge negative thought patterns, and have healthier relationships.
I look forward to hearing from you to discuss how we can work together to begin your healing journey.
