I am an experienced, certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) therapist. I am licensed to provide counseling by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, and I am also a National Certified Counselor. I am currently pursuing certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to treat couples.
My practice is focused on treating trauma, clients with Borderline Personality Disorder, individuals and couples. I specialize in helping clients to uncover core issues and powerful programming rooted in the past that may be impacting choices and behavior in the present. The focus will be on helping you to achieve the mental health you want as I believe the quality of our mental health defines our lives. Together, we will work on issues contributing to anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, intimate partner conflict, divorce, codependency, relationship problems, inability to regulate emotions, interpersonal relationship difficulties and chronic self-doubt issues.
I have lived in three different countries and I have traveled extensively. I love nature, hiking, waterfalls, people, food and different cultures. I believe this gives me a unique perspective and affords me the ability to offer you a non-judgmental environment in which you will be listened to and respected. I have always enjoyed listening to, and learning from others and believe that each person has something to offer this planet. I offer supportive feedback and encouragement and I will challenge some long-held views that may be impeding your growth. Together we will work to create the changes you desire by creating a more positive point of view.
My practice is culturally sensitive, nurturing, compassionate, honest, and respectful. My office is designed as an extension of my home. My desire is for you to feel welcomed and cared for. While the relationship we have with others adds to our happiness and sense of connectedness, the ultimate relationship we need to nurture is the one we have with ourselves. When we are able to view ourselves as worthy, as deserving, as good, as loving, and as beautiful as we view others, we are then able to attract that which we seek.
All of us carry a story within us that need to be told. We all have aspects of our lives that could improve. You are not a diagnosis; you do not deserve to be stigmatized for having a mental health condition. Mental health issues are real and you too, can heal.
This is where I can help. As your therapist I am committed to helping you work through feeling disconnected from your life and loved ones. To help you to unstuck yourself from anger, fear, feeling hopeless and helpless to accomplish these changes. Working to heal these issues is the glue to healthy relationships and to end the cycle of negative relationship repetitions.
